# Toss Pay

If you reduce friction in the payment process, conversion rates go up and payment failures and drop-offs decrease.\
With Toss Pay, you can pay for physical goods and services quickly and smoothly.

### What is Toss Pay?

Toss Pay lets users in the Toss app **make fast and secure payments**is a simple payment service that helps you do that.\
Using payment information you've already registered, you can complete payment with just your password.\
There are no complicated authentication steps like a digital certificate, so the payment flow continues naturally without interruption.

### What are the benefits of using Toss Pay?

### Integration process

Toss Pay integration proceeds in the following order.

1. Check restricted listing items
2. If you are a brokerage platform, check the listing requirements
3. Listing review
4. Guide to contract documents by email to the person in charge of the contract
5. Document submission (registered mail)
6. Document review and screening → contract signing (store account creation)
7. Development integration → launch

It takes about 7 to 14 business days to issue the key. Please apply with plenty of time to match your service schedule.

### Restricted listing items

Before applying for Toss Pay integration, first check whether any of the items below apply to you.

The application of restricted listing items may vary depending on the sales format (online/offline), and additional or revised items that are restricted from listing may be added or changed based on internal policy judgments.

**Illegal goods**

Firearms and edged weapons, stun guns, military uniforms, gambling-related businesses (horse racing, casinos, gambling, bicycle racing, private lending, money changers, auctions, entertainment job listings, gambling machine sales, adult game rooms, etc.), hidden cameras, drugs, cigarettes, tobacco substitutes, lottery tickets, live animals (wildlife/plants and animals), prescription glasses·contact lenses, blood and blood certificates

* Cigarettes, tobacco substitutes, lottery tickets, live animals, and prescription glasses·contact lenses may be conditionally allowed for offline sales only

**Pornographic materials**

If the sale items such as adult-only sites, adult comics/magazines, etc. violate public morals

**Finance-related products and information services**

Loans, deposits·savings, foreign currency exchange services, digital assets (virtual currency, NFT, etc.), virtual currency exchanges (operation/sale/brokerage in all forms), stock information services (quasi-investment advisory business)

**Infringing products**

Trademark and intellectual property infringing goods

**Youth-harmful environment**

Youth-harmful media, youth-harmful drugs, youth-harmful items, establishments prohibited to youths, establishments prohibited from hiring youths

**Other restricted types**

Unregistered multi-level marketing·door-to-door sales operators, SNS promotion, rental businesses (mobile phones), used cars, condo membership, and all products and services that may lead to complaints, such as random (lucky) boxes

### If you are a brokerage platform

When operating a service as a brokerage platform, pre-checks are needed depending on the payment and settlement structure.\
If you directly settle with sub-sellers, you must verify whether you are registered as a payment gateway (PG) business.

* **If you have a PG license** → Direct settlement available
* **If you do not have a PG license** → Use of a settlement agency service required

If you do not have a PG license, please first proceed with a settlement agency service contract before applying for Toss Pay subscription. (e.g., Toss Payments, etc.)

**\[Reference] Mandatory enrollment in settlement payment agency services and legal basis**

According to the Electronic Financial Transactions Act, when recruiting representative merchants, prepaid business operators are prohibited from recruiting persons other than those listed in each item of Article 4-2 of the Enforcement Decree. Article 4-2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Electronic Financial Transactions Act defines merchants as (i) persons registered as electronic financial business operators to conduct payment gateway-related work, (ii) persons registered to notify payers electronically of the details of funds the payer must pay to the payee on behalf of the payee, directly receive and handle the funds, and conduct settlement agency work, and (iii) financial companies that conduct settlement agency work but are exempt from electronic financial business registration.

If the brokerage platform is structured to distribute payment amounts to sub-sellers (three-party settlement), listing is possible if you are registered as a PG business or subscribed to a settlement payment agency service, and during listing review you will be required to submit related documents (settlement agency contract, third-party settlement official document type C, KYC).

### Set up in the console

**1. Sign the contract**

To use Toss Pay, you must first prepare the required documents and sign a written contract.\
Only after the contract is complete can you connect actual payments.

**Please make sure to check**

* Before applying for a contract [Restricted listing items](#입점-제한-항목)and [brokerage platform conditions](#중개-플랫폼인-경우)first.
* `isTestPayment: true`If set to isTestPayment: true, you can test payments in a sandbox environment even before signing the contract (subscription).\
  However, only payment creation is supported; actual approval processing is not.

**Process**

2. First review: Based on the information you entered, the Toss Pay team will conduct the first review.
3. Additional guidance: If further verification is needed, we will send separate guidance to the email of the subscription contact person.
4. Submission of subscription documents: Please fill out and submit the subscription documents.\
   After internal review, the Toss Pay key will be issued.

It takes about 7 to 14 business days to issue the key.\
Please apply with plenty of time to match your service schedule.

**2. Set up**

Once the contract is complete, you will receive the Toss Pay key by email.\
You must register the issued key in the Apps in Toss console to actually integrate.

**Key registration path**

Workspace → Integration Key → Select Register button → Enter merchant key
