### Development

<details>

<summary>I already have a service in operation. How do I deploy it as an Apps in Toss mini app?</summary>

After developing the client side to fit the existing service into the Apps in Toss environment, you can integrate it with your own backend server as needed.

For details, please refer to the [guide](/ai-vibe-coding/en/tutorials/webview.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I need to migrate to SDK 3.x? By when do I need to do it?</summary>

Yes, all partners operating WebView and Unity projects must update to SDK 3.x by September 14, 2026.

As the internal processing logic of the SDK is being changed to server-based, even if an SDK issue occurs, it can be fixed and applied directly on the Apps in Toss server without the partner's redeployment.

For Unity SDK, the transition is complete once you update the git package to version 3.x without changing any separate settings.

For details, please refer to the [SDK 3.x migration guide](/documentation/api-and-sdk-en/integration/sdk-3.x.md)in the design section of the Developer Center.

Non-game mini apps `navigationBar` as an option, you can customize whether the back/home buttons are shown, background transparency, theme (light/dark), accessory icons, and more.

For details, please refer to the [Please refer to the navigation bar settings guide.](/documentation/api-and-sdk-en/common/navigationbar.md) .

</details>

<details>

<summary>Is a server absolutely necessary for Apps in Toss development?</summary>

No. You can develop mini apps with just the SDK, without a separate server.

Only when using features that require server-to-server communication, such as Toss Login, Toss Pay, and smart sending, do you need your own server, and in that case you can additionally set up server API integration settings such as mTLS, CORS, and firewall.

For details, please refer to the[ API usage guide](/documentation/api-and-sdk-en/integration/server-api.md)in the design section of the Developer Center.

</details>

<details>

<summary>A CORS error occurs when calling an external API.</summary>

To communicate with the server in a mini app, you need to add the mini app Origin to the server's CORS allowed Origins.\
The allowed Origin differs depending on the SDK version and application date.

{% hint style="info" %}
**SDK 3.x Origin change notice**

From SDK 3.x bundles uploaded after Tuesday, August 25, 2026, services will use the Origin used in SDK 2.x.\
If communicating with an external server, please add the following Origin to the server's CORS allowed Origins.

* `https://<appName>.apps.tossmini.com` : actual service environment
* `https://<appName>.private-apps.tossmini.com` : console QR test environment
  {% endhint %}

| SDK version | actual service environment | QR test environment |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| 3.x         | `https://<appName>.web.tossmini.com`  | `https://<appName>.private-web.tossmini.com`  |
| 1.x\~2.x    | `https://<appName>.apps.tossmini.com` | `https://<appName>.private-apps.tossmini.com` |

For details, please refer to the [Mini app launch guide](/guide/en/operation/deploy.md).

If not applied `ERR_NETWORK` an error may occur.

For details, please refer to the [API usage guide](/documentation/api-and-sdk-en/integration/server-api.md)in the design section of the Developer Center.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Are there IPs that need to be allowed in the firewall?</summary>

Yes. If you manage inbound/outbound firewalls on your server, you must allow Apps in Toss IPs.

If you do not allow them, API calls may fail, or you may not receive subscription status change callbacks, etc. to the callback URL registered in the console.

For a detailed IP and port list, [API usage guide](/documentation/api-and-sdk-en/integration/server-api.md)in the design section of the Developer Center.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Is there anything security-wise to check when developing a mini app?</summary>

Yes, please check the following.

* You cannot use functionality that executes code received from external sources. (e.g., `eval` etc.)
* You cannot use methods that manipulate browser history to move to your own site. (e.g., `window.location.replace` etc.)
* Server-side rendering (SSR) cannot be used. Only client-side rendering (CSR) or static site generation (SSG) can be used.
* When using WebSocket, only encrypted `wss://` connections are used. (e.g., Firebase Firestore, Supabase Realtime, etc.)
* API communication uses only encrypted HTTPS connections.
* Sensitive information such as user login information and payment records (Toss Pay, in-app purchases) must be encrypted and stored in the DB.
* You must manage the history of user consent, such as Toss Login and terms agreement.
* We also recommend encrypting when transmitting personal information from the client to your own server.

</details>

<details>

<summary>It worked normally in the test environment, but API calls fail in the actual environment.</summary>

In the test environment (sandbox, AIT Devtools, etc.), HTTP requests are allowed, but in the live environment only HTTPS is allowed. HTTP-based APIs are blocked in the Toss app.

Please check whether the API server supports HTTPS.

For details, please refer to the [Mini app testing guide](/guide/en/operation/toss.md)in the design section of the Developer Center.

</details>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://developers-apps-in-toss.toss.im/guide/en/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
